I'm a certified NLP life coach and a certified grief educator.
What I do is teach people what grief is actually doing to them, and give them practical things to do about it.
The death of my mother to cancer is what ultimately led me to grief work. She was diagnosed in Dec 2022 and we laid her to rest in Dec 2023. Her loss was so profound to me and our family that I needed to be able to alchemize my own grief so that I would not be taken over by it. From an early age I truly enjoyed being of service and sought out on my own accord to help others with whatever I could however I could. So helping others to navigate their grief was almost a natural consequence in my life's journey. It just made sense to me.
At the initial stages of my grief, I needed a grief coach or counselor that I could trust with my sensitive emotional state without judgment, that wouldn't try to talk me out of my feelings. I needed someone who understood my pain and could relate in some way. I tried general therapy at the recommendation of my manager at the time. It was generic for a lack of better words. It turned out to be more of a nuisance than therapeutic for me, and did not offer any real emotional relief or practical solutions to help me manage.
When I decided to create a program for grief support, I knew it had to be what I needed then, and now.
I intend to offer my clients a safe space to share and sort out their complicated thoughts and emotions, and offer simple and practical methods to help manage and ease their grief, and navigate this new version of themselves.
Rather than forcing positive thinking, we teach accurate, research-backed cognitive reframing and practical routines that help you rebuild self-trust and stability at your own pace.
We don't ask you to perform recovery or push through pain; we help you lower the bar, release unhelpful expectations, and establish a steady floor that holds even on your hardest days.
I won't give you a timeline. Grief doesn't run on one, and anyone promising you a date is guessing.
I'll tell you what the evidence says. Including when it says a technique I teach isn't well supported.
I won't tell you it happened for a reason. Some losses are simply bad. You won't be asked to pretend otherwise.
I'll tell you when you need more than I can offer. There's a whole lesson on it, and it's in week one, not buried at the end.
I'll assume you're an adult. You're doing the best you can, and that's enough — but you don't need managing.
